funny man

Makes audiences laugh

A funny man is someone who makes others laugh, especially as a profession—a comedian or comic entertainer.

The term often carries slight dismissiveness when applied to someone cracking jokes at an inappropriate moment: Oh, we've got a funny man here.

It can be sincere praise or gentle mockery depending on tone.
