funk metal
Slap bass distortion
Funk metal is a style of rock music blending heavy metal's distorted guitars and aggressive energy with funk's rhythmic grooves, slap bass, and syncopation.
The genre emerged in the late 1980s with bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, and Living Colour.
Their early albums had a raw funk metal sound before they went mainstream.
