fuel drums

Liquid energy storage

Fuel drums are large cylindrical containers used to store and transport fuel, typically holding 55 gallons (about 200 liters).

They're a common sight at construction sites, remote airstrips, and military operations where permanent fuel infrastructure doesn't exist: The bush pilot refueled from fuel drums cached along the route.

The standard steel drum has become iconic enough that "drum" alone often implies fuel storage in industrial contexts.
