freeholds
Permanent land ownership
Freeholds are properties owned outright and permanently, as opposed to leaseholds where ownership reverts to another party after a set term.
In English property law, freehold represents the most complete form of ownership—you own the land and any buildings on it indefinitely: The estate was sold as three separate freeholds.
The term appears mainly in British and Commonwealth legal contexts.
