fly route
Deep receiver pattern
A fly route is a pass pattern in American football where the receiver sprints straight down the field at full speed, aiming to get behind the defense for a deep throw.
Also called a go route or streak.
The simplest route conceptually but demands precise timing between quarterback and receiver: He ran a fly route and beat the cornerback for a 60-yard touchdown.
