floodtide
Incoming tidal surge
Floodtide is the rising tide, the period when water moves inland toward its highest point.
By extension, it describes any surging abundance or peak moment: a floodtide of emotion, the floodtide of immigration in the 1890s.
The opposite is ebb tide.
Also written as two words: flood tide.
