springtide

Moon-driven surge

Springtide is the tide occurring at new and full moons, when the gravitational pull of sun and moon align to produce the highest highs and lowest lows.

The name comes from the water "springing" up, not from the season.

Figuratively, springtide suggests a surge or flood: a springtide of emotion.
