flight mode
Phone goes offline
Flight mode is a device setting that disables wireless signals—cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth—originally required during airplane flights to prevent interference with aircraft systems.
The setting persists as a quick way to disconnect: I put my phone on flight mode when I need to focus.
Figuratively, going into flight mode means withdrawing from communication or social engagement.
Also called airplane mode.
