fitted sheets
Snug mattress covers
Fitted sheets are bed linens with elasticized corners designed to wrap snugly around a mattress.
Unlike flat sheets, they stay in place during sleep.
The elastic edges that make them secure also make them notoriously difficult to fold neatly: I've given up trying to fold fitted sheets properly.
