fire teams
Small infantry units
A fire team is the smallest tactical unit in military organization, typically three to five soldiers who operate together in combat.
The term comes from their function as a coordinated unit of firepower.
Fire teams form the building blocks of larger units—two fire teams make a squad, and the structure scales up from there.
The fire team advanced on the left flank while the other provided cover.
