film sets

Film sets are the constructed environments where movies and television shows are filmed.

A set might replicate a living room, a city street, or an alien planet—built on a soundstage or backlot rather than shot on location.

The term also refers to the physical workplace itself: She spent twelve hours on set yesterday.

Set design, lighting, and props all contribute to making film sets convincing on screen.
