featherboard
Anti-kickback woodworking aid
A featherboard is a woodworking safety device with flexible fingers that press stock firmly against a fence or table during cutting.
The angled fingers, often cut from a single piece of wood or plastic, allow the workpiece to move forward but resist kickback: Clamp a featherboard to the table before running that board through the saw.
