fast-forwarding
Jumping through content
Fast-forwarding is advancing rapidly through recorded media—skipping past commercials, slow scenes, or content you've already seen: I kept fast-forwarding through the boring parts.
The term comes from tape players but applies to any video or audio.
Figuratively, to fast-forward is to skip ahead in time or rush through something: Let's fast-forward to the interesting part of the story.
