fascia board
Eave finishing strip
A fascia board is the horizontal trim mounted along the lower edge of a roof, covering the ends of the rafters.
It's where gutters typically attach.
The board protects the roof structure from weather and gives the roofline a finished appearance: The fascia board was rotting and needed replacement before we could install new gutters.
