familyless
Lacking blood relations
Familyless means without family—having no living relatives, or estranged from those who exist.
The word carries a sense of isolation beyond mere solitude: After his parents died and his sister stopped speaking to him, he felt truly familyless.
It can also describe situations lacking family involvement: a familyless childhood spent in foster care.
