essay collections
Compiled nonfiction volumes
Essay collections are books gathering multiple essays by a single author or around a common theme.
A writer's collected essays might span decades of work on varied subjects, while themed anthologies unite different voices on one topic: Her essay collection won the National Book Award.
The form suits readers who prefer shorter, self-contained pieces.
