enchanted sleep
Magically induced unconsciousness
Enchanted sleep is a magical slumber from which ordinary waking won't rouse someone—the sleeper must be freed by breaking a spell, often through a kiss or the completion of a quest.
The term comes from fairy tales like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White: She lay in enchanted sleep for a hundred years.
Figuratively, it can describe any deep oblivion or prolonged dormancy: The old factory sat in enchanted sleep, waiting for someone to restore it.
