ecosystem restoration
Healing damaged nature
Ecosystem restoration is the process of assisting the recovery of an ecosystem that has been degraded, damaged, or destroyed.
This may involve removing invasive species, replanting native vegetation, reintroducing wildlife, or allowing land to recover naturally.
The goal is returning an ecosystem to a healthy, self-sustaining state: The wetland ecosystem restoration project took fifteen years to show results.
