earloop

Goes around ear

An earloop is a loop of elastic or cord that hooks around the ear to hold something in place—most commonly a face mask: The earloops on these masks are too tight.

Earloops also appear on some eyeglasses, hearing aids, and medical devices.

The term became ubiquitous during the COVID-19 pandemic.
