duty hours
Assigned service time
Duty hours are the scheduled time during which someone is required to be at work or on call.
The term appears most often in military and medical contexts, where it may be strictly regulated: Residents are limited to eighty duty hours per week.
Outside duty hours, personnel are off duty and free from work obligations.
