dust-off

Brush off cobwebs

A dust-off is a quick cleaning or revival of something that's been neglected: The old policy got a dust-off before the meeting.

In military slang, especially from the Vietnam War, a dust-off is a helicopter evacuation of wounded personnel, named for the rotor wash stirring up dust during landing.

To dust off something is to retrieve it from disuse: I dusted off my old guitar.
