dualists

Mind-matter distinction advocates

Dualists are people who believe in or advocate dualism—typically the philosophical view that reality consists of two fundamental substances or principles.

Most often this refers to mind-body dualism, the position that mental and physical phenomena are essentially different: Dualists argue that consciousness cannot be reduced to brain activity.

The term also applies to religious frameworks positing two opposing forces, such as good and evil.
