drone taxi

Pilotless passenger aircraft

A drone taxi is an autonomous or remotely piloted aircraft designed to transport passengers short distances, typically within urban areas.

Also called an air taxi or flying taxi, these electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles represent an emerging category of urban air mobility: The company plans to launch drone taxi service by 2025.

The technology promises to bypass ground traffic but faces regulatory and safety hurdles.
