draft registration
Selective Service signup
Draft registration is the process of enrolling eligible citizens—typically young men—with their government for potential military conscription.
In the United States, males must register with the Selective Service System within 30 days of their 18th birthday: He signed up for draft registration at the post office.
Registration doesn't mean being drafted, but failure to register can result in penalties including ineligibility for federal student aid and government jobs.
