downlinking
Beaming data down
Downlinking is transmitting data from a spacecraft, satellite, or aircraft to a ground station.
The term comes from space communications, where the signal travels "down" from orbit to Earth: The probe began downlinking images as soon as it established contact.
The opposite process is uplinking.
