double suicide
Two die together
Double suicide is the act of two people killing themselves together, typically by prior agreement.
The term often describes romantic partners or close companions who choose to die simultaneously rather than be separated: The lovers committed double suicide when their families forbade the marriage.
In Japanese culture, the practice has historical and literary significance, called *shinjū*.
