double lock
Two-bolt security mechanism
To double lock is to secure a door with two separate locking mechanisms or to engage a lock's secondary bolt for extra security.
Many deadbolts have a double-lock feature that extends the bolt further into the frame: Make sure you double lock the front door before bed.
The term also applies to car doors that disable the interior handle when locked from outside.
