double coverage
Two defenders, one receiver
Double coverage describes defensive strategies where two players guard one opponent.
In American football, two defenders shadow a receiver; in basketball, two players trap the ball handler.
The term also applies in insurance when someone has overlapping policies: We have double coverage through both our employers.
