doter
Lavisher of affection
A doter is someone who dotes—who lavishes excessive affection or attention on another person: She's a real doter on her grandchildren.
The word appears most often describing parents or grandparents whose fondness borders on indulgence.
Less commonly, doter can mean someone in mental decline, from an older sense of dote meaning to be feeble-minded.
