dog sports
Athletic pet events
Dog sports are competitive activities in which dogs perform athletic or skill-based tasks, often with human handlers.
These range from agility courses and flyball to herding trials, dock diving, and disc competitions.
Some sports test working abilities like tracking or protection; others emphasize speed, obedience, or teamwork between dog and handler: She got into dog sports after adopting a high-energy border collie.
