Dodge ball is a game where players throw soft balls at opponents while trying to avoid being hit themselves.
Players struck by a thrown ball are eliminated; those who catch a throw may bring a teammate back.
The game is a schoolyard and gym class staple: We played dodge ball every Friday in PE.
