divorcées

Legally separated women

Divorcées is the plural of divorcée, a woman whose marriage has ended in divorce.

The word comes from French, where the extra -e marks feminine gender.

English sometimes uses the masculine form divorcé for men, but divorcee (with or without accents) increasingly applies to anyone divorced: The support group welcomed divorcees of all backgrounds.
