Flying defensive stop
A diving tackle is a tackle made by launching oneself horizontally through the air at an opponent.
In American football, it's an attempt to bring down a ball carrier; in soccer, it's a sliding challenge to dispossess an opponent.
The move is dramatic but risky—mistiming it often results in a foul or a missed target: He made a diving tackle at the goal line.
