dissenting voice
One who disagrees
A dissenting voice is someone who disagrees with a prevailing opinion or decision, or the expression of that disagreement itself.
The phrase often appears in contexts where consensus exists but isn't unanimous: She was the lone dissenting voice on the committee.
A dissenting voice may be valued for preventing groupthink or dismissed as obstructionist, depending on perspective.
