dills
Feathery pickling herbs
Dills is the plural of dill, the herb with feathery leaves used in pickling and cooking, particularly in Scandinavian and Eastern European cuisines.
It also pluralizes dill pickle, often shortened to just dill: I'll have a pastrami on rye with extra dills.
In Australian and New Zealand slang, a dill is a fool or simpleton, making dills a way to call multiple people stupid: Those dills forgot to lock up again.
