dictionary entry
Lexicon's smallest unit
A dictionary entry is a single item in a dictionary—the headword along with its definition, usage examples, and any other information provided about that word or phrase.
Each entry treats one lexical unit: The dictionary entry for "run" spans three pages.
In digital dictionaries, entries are discrete records that can be searched, linked, and updated independently.
