dialyzable
Passes through membranes
Dialyzable describes a substance that can pass through a semipermeable membrane during dialysis.
In medical contexts, dialyzable drugs or toxins can be removed from the blood by a dialysis machine: The poison was dialyzable, so emergency dialysis saved her life.
In chemistry, dialyzable molecules are small enough to diffuse through membrane pores while larger molecules are retained.
