derailers
Things causing derailment
Derailers are things that cause something to go off track.
A train derailer is a device that intentionally derails cars to prevent collisions or runaways.
More often, derailers are behaviors, events, or obstacles that disrupt progress: Perfectionism and procrastination are common career derailers.
In psychology and leadership contexts, derailers are personality traits that undermine effectiveness despite apparent strengths.
