demand feeding
Infant-cued meal timing
Demand feeding is the practice of feeding an infant whenever they show signs of hunger rather than on a fixed schedule.
The approach responds to the baby's cues—fussiness, rooting, or crying—rather than the clock: We switched to demand feeding after the rigid schedule wasn't working.
Also called feeding on demand or responsive feeding.
