scheduled feeding
Eating by clock
Scheduled feeding is the practice of feeding an infant or animal at fixed intervals rather than on demand.
Parents following this approach might feed a baby every three or four hours regardless of hunger cues: The pediatrician recommended scheduled feeding to establish a routine.
The opposite approach is demand feeding or feeding on cue.
