Texas blues
Southern guitar tradition
Texas blues is a regional style of blues music that developed in Texas, characterized by a more relaxed, swinging feel than the intense Delta blues, often featuring electric guitar with a clean tone and jazz-influenced phrasing.
The style produced distinctive subgenres: the country blues of Blind Lemon Jefferson, the urban sophistication of T-Bone Walker, and the raw electric sound of Lightnin' Hopkins.
Stevie Ray Vaughan brought Texas blues to mainstream rock audiences in the 1980s.
