A dean of students is a university or college administrator responsible for student life outside the classroom—handling disciplinary matters, student welfare, campus activities, and sometimes housing or counseling services.
The dean of students serves as an advocate for students while also enforcing institutional policies: She was called to the dean of students' office after the incident.
