daylight time
Shifted clock period
Daylight time is the practice of setting clocks forward one hour during warmer months to extend evening daylight.
Most of the United States and many other countries observe daylight time from spring through fall: We lose an hour when daylight time begins.
Also called daylight saving time or, informally, daylight savings.
