cursive writing
Flowing script style
Cursive writing is a style of penmanship in which letters within a word are joined together in flowing strokes, allowing the pen to stay on the paper continuously.
It developed as a faster alternative to printing each letter separately and was once standard in school instruction.
The term distinguishes this connected script from print or block lettering.
Children used to learn cursive writing in third grade, but many schools no longer teach it.
