curling irons
Heated styling tools
Curling irons are heated styling tools used to curl or wave hair.
The hair is wrapped around a heated cylindrical barrel, which sets the curl as it cools.
Modern versions are electric; older ones were heated over flame or on a stove.
Also called curling tongs.
