couples skate
Pairs ice dance
Couples skate is a designated period at a roller rink or ice rink when only pairs skate together, typically to slow romantic music.
The DJ announces it, the lights dim, and solo skaters clear the floor: He finally asked her to couples skate.
The term evokes nostalgic, slightly awkward adolescent romance.
