cord cutter
Streaming service convert
A cord cutter is someone who cancels their cable or satellite television subscription, typically in favor of streaming services.
The term emerged as Netflix, Hulu, and similar platforms made traditional TV packages unnecessary for many viewers: We became cord cutters last year and haven't missed cable at all.
The cord refers to the cable connecting a set-top box to the wall.
