coparenting
Joint child custody
Coparenting is the shared raising of a child by two or more adults, typically parents who are divorced or separated.
The term emphasizes cooperation and coordination between caregivers who don't live together: We've worked out a coparenting arrangement that gives the kids stability.
It can also describe arrangements between unmarried parents or non-romantic partners who choose to raise a child together.
