A cookbook holder is a stand or rack designed to prop open a cookbook at a readable angle while cooking.
Most have a transparent shield or adjustable arm to protect pages from splatters: I got a cookbook holder so I can follow recipes without touching the pages with greasy hands.
Also called a recipe book stand.
