come in hot

Arrive dramatically fast

Come in hot means to arrive with intensity, aggression, or without slowing down.

Originally aviation and military slang for an aircraft landing at excessive speed or a helicopter approaching under fire: The chopper came in hot with wounded aboard.

Now widely used for any charged entrance—showing up angry, making a strong first impression, or diving into something without hesitation: She came in hot at the meeting, already furious about the budget cuts.

Don't come in too hot on the first date.
